TDA

Terpsichore dance Arts

A Bit About Us

Four years ago, Terpsichore dancers and leaders decided to add more challenge to their dance curriculum and join together to form a performance team. We have an exceptionally talented group of 14 dancers.  Our team is comprised of some of the most dedicated and responsible young dancers we have ever instructed.

Our performance team travels numerous places to perform and share their passion for dance. We perform at local events throughout Moore County, as well as have traveled to Carolina Beach, and performed at the halftime show for The Harlem Globetrotters. A highlight has been visiting and performing multiple times at Walt Disney World to present their dance repertoire at Disney Springs as a part of Disney Youth Programs. TDA plans to travel on the Carnival Cruise Line ship Sunshine to Nassau and Princess Cays to showcase the high quality dances that our teachers have choreographed for them in April of 2020

My name is Lydia McGrath, and I am a Senior at Pinecrest High School. I have been dancing with TDA since the beginning, 3 years ago. I have had the privilege of being Captain of the team for each of those 3 years and now again for the 4th year. As a member of the team I have been able to perform in many different places, including Walt Disney World, King’s Dominion, Carolina Beach, and soon onboard the Carnival Sunshine cruise ship in April of 2020. Being apart of the team has really helped improve myself as a dancer and also as a person. It has taught me commitment, perseverance, team building, and leadership. The extra practices and rehearsals have helped improve my stamina and confidence while performing. I’ve also made stronger relationships with my friends over the years. Many of the best friends I’ve made are from dance and TDA. I love that TDA allows me to push myself harder and learn more difficult choreography. It’s always amazing to get to show off our hard work to our audiences. I’m very sad that this will be my last year dancing here at Terpsichore, but I’m going to make the most of it and I will keep these memories with me forever."

My name is Morgan Jackson and I am so excited to have begun my fourth year of TDA as well as honored to be returning for my third year as a captain! The past four years of TDA have been integral in my training as a dancer. It has taught me the importance and meaning in pushing through the hard parts to find the satisfaction of accomplishment. I, as well as the rest of the team, have countless memories of truly intense rehearsals where by the end of the night you think to yourself "I am going to be sore in the morning". Truth be told: we are sore in the morning! But we still get up and go to rehearsal because all of the hard work is worth it for the feeling you get after a fantastic performance! The work ethic and perseverance this team had instilled in me has greatly affected my dance technique and my quality of performance. I am sincerely grateful for the support of my teachers and the lasting friendships I have made with the girls on this team. I am especially eager to be traveling abroad and dancing on a Carnival Cruise next Spring. It is sure to be one of our best performances yet!
